PIAB’s suction cup range is extremely comprehensive. There are countless options in terms of material, size, and shape, allowing for the handling of a wide variety of objects using vacuum technology.
Suction cups enable various lifting techniques. They can be used to handle wood panels, concrete pieces, open bags, pick up electronic components, apply labels, and hold objects in place. Suction cups are always selected based on the specific application.
Most of the suction cups in Piab’s range are round in shape, making them suitable for a variety of applications. The selection includes flat suction cups and multi-bellows suction cups, which provide height adjustment for uneven and curved surfaces. The thickness of the suction cup’s lip and the softness of the material can influence the gripping properties.
Oval suction cups are most often used for handling long and narrow objects when maximum lifting force is desired. The oval shape is also ideal when the gripping surface is irregular and height adjustment is needed.
With the piGrip series, users can customize a suction cup to suit their specific needs. piGrip can be configured by choosing between 1-, 3-, 6-bellows or bellows-free versions. There are several options for the suction lip: the thin BGI lip for bag handling, two different FOAM lips, and several standard lips with different hardness levels, ranging from the 60° Shore model to the extremely soft 30° Shore model, which adapts well to surface shapes and roughness.
piSOFTGRIP is a unique lightweight vacuum-operated finger gripper designed for lifting and moving delicate and fragile objects. The fingers of the one-piece gripper close under vacuum pressure, providing a firm yet gentle grip on the object.
The material is FDA-approved silicone. A stainless steel (RST) version of the attachment is available if needed.
