Servo drives

Servo drives enable high-performance control of servo motors, with pre-configured parameters tailored to the connected motor. Drives are available in stand-alone versions, which can be programmed with their own motion sequences and controlled via external I/O signals. For applications requiring integration with a control system or motion controller, drives can be selected based on the desired fieldbus interface, such as EtherCAT, Mechatrolink-III, or PROFINET. Traditional analog/digital I/O control is also supported, depending on the chosen drive model. Some models also support gantry functionality, allowing the simultaneous control of two amplifiers. This enables both motors to move in sync using a single motion command — ideal for applications requiring coordinated multi-axis movement.

E1

Hiwin’s E1 series servo drives are designed to support rotary, linear, and torque motors, covering a wide range of industrial application needs. The intelligent auto-tuning function simplifies commissioning and adapts to load changes, ensuring fast and stable machine performance. The free and user-friendly Thunder software is available for setup, parameterization, and diagnostics.

Key Features:

  • Power range: 400 W – 7.5 kW

  • 3.2 kHz speed response for faster, more precise motion and shorter settling times

  • “Tuneless” auto-tuning simplifies setup and adapts to changing loads

  • Advanced auto-tuning automatically adjusts gain, filters, vibration and resonance suppression to optimize machine performance

  • Ripple compensation for smooth motion

  • Models available with integrated Safety Torque Off (STO) function

  • Broad fieldbus support: EtherCAT, MECHATROLINK-III, PROFINET, as well as analog/pulse versions

  • Optional ESC encoder box supports analog SIN/COS, EnDat, and BiSS-C encoders — typically used with linear motors

Servokaytot_Sigma7

Sigma-7 servo drives

The Sigma-7 series has been developed with three core goals in mind: simple and fast commissioning, maximum throughput and precision, and outstanding operational reliability. These objectives are achieved through smart features such as auto-tuning, automatic load compensation, and integrated vibration suppression. The compact book-style design allows side-by-side installation, optimizing space usage. This new generation builds on 25 years of engineering expertise and over nine million servo systems installed worldwide.

Key Features:

  • Power range:
    – 200 V models: 50 W to 15 kW
    – 400 V models: 200 W to 15 kW

  • 3.1 kHz speed response for faster, more accurate motion and shorter settling times

  • Built-in Safety Torque Off (STO)

  • Optional safety module supporting extended safety functions:
STO, SS1, SS2, SOS, SLS, SLA, SSR, SDI, SLP, SLI, SLT, SMT, SCA, SSM

  • Extensive fieldbus support: EtherCAT, MECHATROLINK-III, PROFINET, and analog/pulse control
