Torque motors

In addition to complete rotary tables, HIWIN also offers individual torque motor components for custom-designed rotary tables and rotary axes. These torque motor components consist of a ring-shaped rotor and a stator with coil assemblies. Thanks to their direct-drive design, torque motors eliminate the need for gearboxes and mechanical transmissions, resulting in a simplified drive structure. The rigid connection between the motor and the load ensures excellent acceleration performance and smooth, consistent motion. Integrated cooling channels allow the torque motor to be operated with liquid cooling, preventing additional process heat from affecting the machine. This enables higher torque outputs to be achieved in demanding applications.

The next-generation TM-2 torque motor series from Hiwin Microsystems is designed for applications requiring high torque and precision. With integrated liquid cooling, the motor can achieve up to 2.5 times higher torque output compared to air-cooled versions.
